I started as a hyperactive A student in elementary school. Then I turned into a disruptive C student in middle school and eventually an "at-risk" F student during high school. Not very inspiring, I know.
I couldn’t help being a disruptive and sometimes annoying student, but I kept hearing from my teachers that I was smart or at least not dumb.
There was a reason I became an F student in high school, though, and it had to do with my close friend’s rich uncle. He had a successful business, was wealthy, and hadn’t gone to university after finishing high school.
So I looked at this rich, young uncle and thought… why should I waste my time studying these nonsense books? I need to go out there, work, start a business, and get rich. And sure enough, I did just that right after high school.
At the age of 16, my friend and I started working for a company that sold groceries in bulk to supermarkets.
I was responsible for visiting these supermarkets and selling them goods in bulk. I was young and hungry, so I sold a lot.
But some of these supermarkets didn’t pay on time, and some didn’t want to pay at all. I worked there for about two years, and it turned out to be one of the most challenging experiences of my life up to that point.
Long story short, with all the hardship and struggle, I realized that starting my career from there without a university degree was going to be very tough.
So, I thought, instead of working 10 hours a day at this crappy job dealing with crappy people, I could put that same effort into studying for the university entrance exam. And that’s exactly what I did.
I started studying 8 to 10 hours a day, nonstop, for two years. Eventually, I got accepted to one of the best universities in the country for electrical engineering. That was the beginning of my career in industrial automation, which later evolved into entrepreneurship.
